Lucy Kornblith, M.D. received her undergraduate degree from University of California Santa Barbara. She received her M.D. from the University of Colorado Medical School in 2009, graduating AOA. She completed her residency in General Surgery at University of California San Francisco in 2016. She was recognized at her graduation with two awards of distinction: the Haile T. Debas Resident Teaching Award and the Fred H. & Esther E. Nusz Resident Achievement Award. While at UCSF, Dr. Kornblith was the Trauma and Critical Care Clinical and Translational Research Fellow in the Cohen Trauma Research Lab at UCSF funded by a NIH Trauma Training Grant from 2012-2014. During this time, she played a pivotal role in the translation study of coagulation and inflammation perturbations after trauma. Her interest and investigations in this area continue. She currently has nineteen peer-reviewed papers to date, eight of them as first author, and has been the recipient of numerous esteemed awards including the 2014 first place Earl G. Young Award.
