PHEO Research Group

PHEO (Public Health, Education and Outcomes) Research Group was formed in Fall 2013 to foster collaboration in clinical research in the Department of Surgery.

The goals of PHEO are:

  • To develop, assess, and disseminate surveillance and intervention programs to improve public and global health.
  • To inform clinical decision-making and identify targets for quality improvement through population-based surgical outcomes research.
  • To design educational programs based on theoretically sound principles.
  • To foster collaborative research across surgical research disciplines.
  • To prepare research fellows to take leadership in global health, public health, surgical education, and outcomes research at the local, national, and international level.

We would like to engage research fellows to present "work in progress" updates of their research at monthly PHEO meetings where feedback will be provided by research faculty mentors and peers.

We look forward to your joining us!
